A User Experience on Codepen Forum

Codepen has undoubtedly served as the bedrock for many web designers' upbringing. Whether you're a novice who's looking to acquire basic knowledge, or a coding whiz looking to reconnect with your roots, Codepen is an uplifting community that enables designers and developers alike to refine and build talent. When most creators, namely up-and-coming ones, have concluded a project, they generally flock to the Internet in the name of validation. A budding developer who has recently created their first animation has done nothing to dispel the aforementioned theory.

The title of the project is as follows: my first attempt at animations in JS: Bubbles. There's no refuting that the designer is thoroughly impressed with their creation - as they should be. The project appears to consist of a simple gameplay in which players pop bubbles and graduate to the next level upon completion. The overall animation was a resounding success. People sounded off in the comments section stating that the game was extremely satisfying and pretty relaxing - no doubt an ego boost for the rookie animator. Others went so far as to say they would definitely learn some things from the animation. While the pretty nifty and nice! comments were certainly warranted, other creators offered some helpful suggestions.

Fortunately, the animator was entirely open to recommendations and took kindly to the constructive criticism. After all, I think the designer was shocked they amassed even a small following. One user noted that the counter was enormous and recommended that the developer fix the bug, while another player gently suggested that a user-select feature be implemented. Without pause, the creator made the necessary adjustments in an effort to create a more positive player experience. While some admitted that they had a difficult time popping the bubbles on their mobile device, the overall consensus was that the aspiring developer had nailed their very first animation in JS.
