A Web Designer Needed Help Regarding A Client's Strange Request
A website designer wanted to know if there are any WordPress themes that allow navigation that goes all the way around the landing page. They gave an example image of what they want to do. It involves having clickable items around all four sides of the screen, a centered image and items that can be clicked from the middle of the page.
One person replied with a Code Pen for the original poster. They only made it for the desktop version of a site. A lot of people clicked on the link to the Code Pen and thought it was great. A few people had comments about the Code Pen. One noted that it would only work for a screen size of at least 1,280 pixels. Another person explained that a fixed position parent and transparent backgrounds would make this layout easier to navigate.
A different person also replied to the original poster, and they had a suggestion about setting up a hierarchy for the links. They also suggested moving the bottom text up somewhat so that it is easier for a user to see. Their other suggestion for the original poster was to use social icons. They noted that using motion in some way could enhance the user experience. This individual also offered some detailed coding tips for the original poster.
Another person commented about the look of this site being alright, but the navigation being difficult. The original poster had already noted that it was a demand of their client to have it this way. They had already tried to talk their client out of it, but the client was adamant about this layout style. Other commentators backed up the original poster, stating that when a client has a demand, it is best to work through it in order to deliver a satisfactory result.
A lot of people were critical about the original poster's plan, and they did not seem to understand that it was not the designer's idea to do this. It is the idea of the client, and the original poster just needed some design guidance. For more information click here https://i.redd.it/qwh1bpq6b3u41.png.
