A website developer wanted to know how annoyed you have to be at CSS in order to add 274 digits to your z index. This was somewhat of a rhetorical question, but many others in the CSS coding community had a few things to say about it. Sometimes, commiserating can be a helpful thing. The variety of the responses show that in action.
One person wrote back to say that they just mash "9" until it works. Another person suggested that the programmer who did that probably needs a hug, and maybe a beer. One person was annoyed with the graph's lack of x axis and y axis labels and noted that the labeling that it did have was not very good.
Another person did not understand the z index of the graph. They wanted to know what it meant. A different person replied that it was part of what the original poster was referring to. This person also noted that the z-index is notorious for being finicky.
Many people suggested that it is likely a person who is using indexing in groups of 10 in order to stick a point between two known locations. This would make more sense given the environment and the unusual number of digits in the z index.
A few people had more creative ideas as to why a person would have 274 digits in their z index. One person said perhaps it was just frustration on the part of the programmer. Another person joked that the programmer has a cat that walked across the keyboard or took a nap on it, engaging the "9" until it was prodded to get off of that spot.
Several others had slightly more plausible ideas about why there might be 274 digits in the z index. One of them suggested that perhaps a company went with the lowest bidder. The lowest bidder on a project might save some money, but it is often the case that the finished results will be messy and disorganized. Several people agreed and stated their experiences with fixing those types of coding messes. For more information click here https://i.redd.it/60kbh132j1i31.jpg.
