Designer Announces CSS.GG v2.0 Has Gone Live for Coding Use

A web designer shared a set of links and noted that CSS.GG v2.0 is live now. There are 700 user interface icons in pure CSS, SVG and Figma. The set includes SVG icons, SVG Sprite icons, styled components, react JavaScript, locally styled components, Figma components and Adobe XD components. The project is free and open-source, so anybody can use any of these parts without having to pay for a fee per item or a subscription fee. This coder wanted to know what other designers thought about the resource and whether or not they would use any of these icons in their designs.

One person replied that the styled components were weird. The original poster responded to this comment, stating that it should not return a stylized component; instead, it can return the all of the coded props made with the .attrs syntax. A person wanted to know if they could download an icon and use it on printed materials. The original poster told them that they could do this.

Another person added a comment about an issue they had when enabling the dark mode. The background color for the viewing all of the icons button changed from purple to a color that was similar to the page's background color. This caused the button to not stand out. This commentator thought that it would look better if the accent color did not change when toggling into dark mode. The original poster, who designed this, responded with a thanks for the input and a note that they planned to fix this.

Several people commented that they had been looking for something like this to use in their designs and planned to use it. The original poster was happy to hear about it. A different person wanted to know if they could use or save it in XD. The original poster replied with a syntax on how this individual could save the icons in that format. Someone else noted that the buttons that say "available in" are not visible or readable when the screen is set up in the dark mode of viewing.
