Designers' Secret Thoughts About Code
A web designer shared a link to a large community of designers who chat about related topics online. This site featured a way to change the color of the sky and reflection on water in an image of a real place, but the image is made entirely in CSS. It is not a digital photo, but it looks like one. A lot of people experimented with the code in order to change the look of the image. Many of those people had comments about the code and its functionality.
One person remarked that they still had trouble with their z-index. A person replied to them and reminded them to check their position and whether or not it was set to static. Another person commented about how the image is in pure CSS and how they were amazed about it. One person joked that they wanted it to be available in IE6 with full compatibility.
Someone else added comments about the level of effort. A person added onto this, noting that it took 4413 lines of code to make this image. While it is not a practical thing to do, it was a challenge for the person who did it. The people who played around with the code found it to be an exciting experience, even though they did not think it would be exciting.
A lot of people were so amazed that they could only share expletives. Overall, people had a great experience checking out the code, the image and the changes that could be made by making adjustments to the code.
On the other hand, a few people mentioned that they had some problems. One person noted that it crashed their iOS, but they did not say what iOS they were using or on which device. Another person added that it crashed their Safari. However, they also did not share which version of Safari or which device they were using when the crash took place. Someone else also reported that the code crashed their Android device when they zoomed in, but they did not say how much they zoomed.
