Freelance Web Design as an Alternative to Babysitting

There are some very talented web developers who are still teenagers. When these kids will have a significant head start when they graduate high school, many of them want to work right away. The salaries are high and very tempting, but 13-year-olds can’t get a job most places. Babysitting and lawn mowing are their only options.

It’s much easier to learn things when you are young. Teenagers have brains that are more flexible and receptive. The brain continues developing until the 20s. Many of today’s web professionals wish they would have learning to program at an early age. Coding boot camp is scary if you are 30 or older, as the challenging of keeping up with 18-year-old kids is intimidating.

Even with the necessary skills, there one problem with teenagers working as developers. They rarely have the soft skills essential for working on a team or dealing with demanding clients. One-on-one, most teens do fine. There is also the chance that people will not take them seriously. Imagine a demanding potential client sitting down with a 13-year-old discussing the goals for their business website. Most people would rather take their money and give it to someone older that they trust. It may not be fair, but it is realistic.

So what can teens do? They can do freelance work for individuals and businesses in their neighborhood. You only have to be 13 to work on Fivver, but 18 to work on many other freelancing platforms like Upwork. Teens can make money as web developers and even own their own company. It all depends on whether they have a good portfolio and can present themselves as reliable and highly skilled. There are people doing this right now who will probably end up as the next Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. For more information click here https://v.redd.it/8erup5nr3xu61.
