A person who does not consider themselves to be a web designer has just created a mobile-first portfolio page. It features vector graphics in a yellow color with a dark background. It also has a centered title and description. There are links on the bottom that allow the user to go to the site's play store, Git lab, contact form and Reddit page. There is a contact hyperlink and a statement that the site does not collect cookies. This person added that they are self-taught and have been doing this kind of work since 2018. The individual is looking for feedback on the design.
One person in a large online web design community took a look and had some comments for the designer. One of those comments was about changing the color of the buttons that can be clicked. This would make them easier to notice. Another comment was related to a lack of hierarchy related to the importance of the functions. There is no hierarchy of size, so a person might not know where to click first.
A different person tested the site in an Android environment and had a lot of feedback for the original poster. Some of that feedback included an inability to scroll on the page because of the way the mobile environment works. This person also added that they can see the contact, but swiping it does not do anything. They added additional comments, including scrolling in Chrome causing problems with the ability to see content at the top or at the bottom. They also had an issue with seeing the description. Overall, this person said it was one of the most confusing mobile sites they ever visited.
Other people also had some comments to share. One was about swapping a button with an arrow that would not take up as much space on the screen. The original poster said they would try it. Another person commented about avoiding the use of justified text and not explaining what happens if a person swipes left. Someone else added reconsidering the tagline of the mobile website's homepage. For more information click here https://i.redd.it/b1hdst01c0n41.png.
