A person who does a variety of website work went into a large online design forum. They are setting up an accounting system and want to categorize their freelance and gig work by product type. They mostly design websites and create invoices by the size of the product. They want to add a few extras. Their question to the community is what other products freelance workers offer and how much they charge for them, such as hosting.
One person said they do marketing, SEO, social media post management, IT consulting and site maintenance. A few people joked that they handle "grandma" issues for people who are not adept at the use of technology. Several people agreed and said they had earned a lot of money by handling "grandma" issues. Somebody else said they do web design, graphic design, branding, and prototyping. They also handle design, development, hosting, and maintenance/management. Another person said they do CGIs, copy writing, photography, domain names, email marketing and print work in addition to SEO and hosting. They work for a group and are not a freelancer. Help desk types of services are also popular among the freelancers.
One person said they do free updates for the clients they host. They do not want to draw up an invoice for every small thing they do. For the blog work they perform, they charge by the minute and invoice every couple of months. This person does everything, including content creation, SEO, programming and design. They do not do logo design or in-person photography.
A few others offer all of these common services as well as website maintenance and repairs. A couple of people mentioned that they offer online training via Zoom and video-based courses. Some have done eBooks. A few offer designs and mock-ups, development, implementation, Google optimization, Facebook optimization and content management systems. A couple of freelancers also offer DNS management, takeovers and image prep for website use. One or two offer logo creation, analytics, branding and graphic design. One person said they offer colors palettes and updates to a site's typeface, layout and font.
