Web 2.0 Elements Are Still Adding Value For Modern Websites

There was a time, not quite two decades ago, when the Web 2.0 paradigm made the internet more useful and visually appealing. It seemed as if everything looked better on the screen when Web 2.0 came around, and when it finally did rise, it was as a glorious symbol of what a highly functional internet should be.

The Web 2.0 vision seemed as if it was highly sustainable because it allowed us to do real things online. Web standards became powerful, and the tools and websites used to create them also packed a lot of power. When we think about the web apps that were created back then, we realize that they were truly game-changing events. Something else we had was shiny and bubbly badges that looked like stickers.

Now that we are going through a nostalgic kick within the world of web design, perhaps we should take a moment to celebrate Web 2.0 sticker-like logos. For the past year or so, web designers following the retro 1990s style of page layouts are taking things a bit further with the revival of Web 2.0 badges that, in retrospect, are incredibly cool-looking and can be programmed to do different things. In the first decade of the 21st century, for example, clicking on the Skype logo on a web page will execute the application and launch a VoIP call. When we stop to think about it, this is thoughtful web design. How about we start bringing these badges back?If you've never designed anything using SVG, then you need to have at least one Web 2.0 idea in your head before you begin. Thankfully, some of the Web 2.0 badge and logo generators are still around, and they can be a source of inspiration as we get into our revival trend.

There's no shortage of Web 2.0 elements to choose from, and it's almost impossible to pick just one. We all yearn for the freedom of the Web 2.0 paradigm, and we deserve to bring some of its elements back.
