Why Is Google Suddenly Offering Online UX Development Training?

Google says it had trouble finding IT professionals, so they created online certificate classes to expand the field of potential candidates. They found their online courses, where students don't need any experience or a degree to enroll, were helping people find good jobs. Their latest course is UX design. While there is no experience needed, soft skills UX designers need include the ability to conduct research and developing ideas to address issuers users of a website or app have using it.

There are many job opportunities available for UX designers and a dearth of qualified candidates. Google says the course qualifies graduates for UX designer or UI designer positions. They will connect graduates with over 100 potential employers directly, including Google, Best Buy and Walmart.

It takes about six months to complete Google's UX Design Professional Certificate program if you work at it 10 hours a week. Students learn at their own pace. There are seven courses, starting with the Foundations of User Experience and ending with the Design a User Experience for Social Good & Prepare for Jobs course. There reading assignments and video lectures by universities and top companies. Students also take quizzes to make sure they understand the material.

During the course, students learn about website accessibility, journey maps and learn how to use design tools like Figma and Adobe XD. Participants graduate with a professional UX portfolio containing three projects.

Potential students can audit most of the material for free, but they won't earn a certificate. There is a seven day free trail too, otherwise this is a paid course. Google does not list the price of the course until you request the information, but similar online courses cost between $6,000 to $7,000. Some have unique features, like CareerFoundry's UX Design Program, which offers a one-to-one mentor. For more information click here https://i.redd.it/26a94lgn9ln61.jpg.
